Kappu Ritual
The child protection kappu is performed — a specific version of the protection cord ritual calibrated for children, which in Kerala tradition involves the goddess agreeing to act as the child's divine guardian until the cord is naturally released.
Step 3
Bhagavathy Abhisheka
Full abhisheka of the goddess with turmeric, milk, and sacred herbs. The child's name is spoken during the abhisheka — the water from this ritual is absorbed into the prasad cloth dispatched to you.
Step 4
Child's Wearing
Tie the dispatched kappu thread on the child's right wrist (boys) or left wrist (girls) while saying: "Bhagavathy protects you, carries you, guards you." Do this on a Tuesday or Friday for maximum potency.

Monthly Protection
On the child's birth nakshatra day each month, light a ghee lamp in the evening and say the child's name aloud three times while looking at the flame. This monthly practice renews the protective sankalpa.
