Step 1

Begin the Surya Namaskar practice
The Sakshinathaswamy (literally "the Lord who is the witness") tradition associates legal clarity with Surya (the sun as the divine witness). For 7 days before the visit, perform 12 Surya Namaskars at sunrise, facing east, with the intention of seeking truthful resolution.
Step 3
Visit on a Sunday morning
Sakshinathaswamy Temple at Tiruppurambiyam is most powerful on Sundays (Surya's day). Arrive for the morning puja. Wear white or light yellow. If Sunday is impossible, choose another morning but preserve the sunrise prayer and white-offering discipline before the visit.
Step 4
Offer the witness testimony offering (Sakshibhava)
The primary offering here is called Sakshibhava — the "testimony of a witness." Offer a white flower (ideally jasmine or white lotus) and a lamp (deepam) while clearly stating the truth of your situation. The tradition holds that Sakshinathaswamy hears and records the sincere truth offered before him.
Step 5
Perform the Aditya Hrudayam recitation
If you know the Aditya Hrudayam (or can follow a recording), recite it once inside the temple or immediately outside. This is the traditional prayer of legal and conflict resolution in the Surya tradition. The recitation is not for performance; even a slow, imperfect reading with truthful intention is preferable to a hurried display.
Step 6
Return home in silence
After the visit, travel home without discussing the case or the visit with anyone until you have reached your home and offered one final prayer of gratitude. The "sealing" of the intention in silence is part of the protocol.
Step 7
Post-visit: Sunday observances for 7 weeks
For 7 consecutive Sundays after the visit: fast until noon, recite the Aditya Hrudayam or Surya Ashtakam, offer a lamp in the direction of the rising sun. The number 7 corresponds to the seven-horse chariot of Surya.
