Multiple Planetary Affliction — Navagraha Dosha

This condition is addressed through the Navagraha Complete Dosha Remedy protocol with temple-specific ritual guidance.

The temple tradition

Suryanar Kovil

Suryanar Kovil is the primary Sun (Surya) temple in the Navagraha circuit of Tamil Nadu. It is particularly important for those with Sun-related afflictions — low vitality, authority problems, or a weak Sun in the horoscope. The temple also houses all nine planetary deities.

Deity Suryanar (Sun God)
Location Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu, India
Nearest city Kumbakonam (18 km)
Ideal visit 1–2 hours
Best months January, February, October, November
Why this temple for Navagraha Complete Dosha Remedy?

Sunday is the primary day for Sun worship. The Ratha Saptami festival (January–February) is the most important annual celebration. Wheat, jaggery, and red flowers are the traditional offerings. The circuit of all nine Navagraha temples in Tamil Nadu (covering all nine planets) can be completed in 2–3 days using Kumbakonam as a base.

Questions answered

Frequently asked

Can I do the circuit in 2 days instead of 3?
Possible but strenuous. Temples are scattered up to 55 km from Kumbakonam and have limited morning windows. A 2-day circuit would require Day 1: Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury (4 temples), and Day 2: Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu, Ketu (5 temples). The Day 2 would be very long. Better alternative: 2 days for the 6 most afflicted planets, then a separate day for the remaining 3 within 6 months.
Should I do individual planet temple visits or the full circuit?
Both have a place. The full circuit is the comprehensive reset — do it once to address all planets simultaneously. Individual planet temple visits (e.g., Thirunallar every Saturn-Saturday during Sade Sati) are the ongoing maintenance practice for specific active afflictions. Full circuit: every 3–5 years (or annually for active Dosha). Individual temple: on the planet's day during active Mahadasha or transit affliction.
Is the Tamil Nadu circuit better than Srikalahasti for Rahu-Ketu?
Different scope. Srikalahasti is more specifically powerful for Rahu-Ketu axis issues (Kala Sarpa, standalone Rahu or Ketu Dosha). The Tamil Nadu circuit addresses Rahu and Ketu within the context of all 9 planets simultaneously — the planetary balance is the focus rather than the Rahu-Ketu axis specifically. For Kala Sarpa Dosha: Srikalahasti (standalone). For general multi-planet maintenance including Rahu and Ketu: Tamil Nadu circuit.
Are all 9 temples open every day?
Yes — all 9 are daily temples with morning and evening sessions. However, some have longer queues and more elaborate pujas on the planet's specific day (Thirunallar on Saturdays, Alangudi on Thursdays, etc.). Planning the circuit to align Days 1–3 with the relevant planet days improves the puja experience but is not required for the circuit to be valid.
