Step 1
रोग की प्रकृति निर्धारित करें
रोगी का नाम, आयु, नक्षत्र (यदि ज्ञात हो) और विशेष स्वास्थ्य स्थिति लिखें। यह नई बीमारी है, बार-बार आती है, या परिवार में चली आ रही है — यह निर्धारित करता है कि कौन-सी पूजा करवानी है। सभी चिकित्सा उपचार जारी रखें।
Step 2
7 दिन पूर्व तैयारी — आहार और संकल्प
यात्रा से 7 दिन पहले: मांसाहार, मद्य और तामसिक भोजन त्यागें। प्रतिदिन ठंडे जल से स्नान करें। महामृत्युंजय मंत्र 108 बार पढ़ें: "ॐ त्र्यम्बकं यजामहे सुगन्धिं पुष्टिवर्धनम्, उर्वारुकमिव बन्धनान् मृत्योर्मुक्षीय माऽमृतात्।"
Step 3
मंगलवार को मंदिर जाएँ
वैतीश्वरन कोयिल मंगलवार (अंगारक का दिन) को विशेष शक्तिशाली है। प्रातः 7 बजे से पहले पहुँचें। नीले या गहरे हरे वस्त्र धारण करें।
Step 4
सिद्धामृत कुंड में स्नान
मंदिर का तालाब (सिद्धामृत — "सिद्धों का अमृत") उपचार प्रोटोकॉल का केंद्र है। दर्शन से पहले तालाब में अनुष्ठानिक स्नान करें। इस चरण को न छोड़ें — यह उपचार संकल्प को खोलने वाली शुद्धि माना जाता है।

वैद्यनाथ अभिषेक करवाएँ
पहले से वैद्यनाथ अभिषेक (देवता का अनुष्ठानिक स्नान) बुक करें। अभिषेक के दौरान स्पष्ट स्वास्थ्य संकल्प लें — जिस व्यक्ति के लिए उपचार माँगा जा रहा है उसका नाम, रोग की प्रकृति और स्वास्थ्य लाभ की प्रार्थना करें।
Step 6
नवग्रह मंदिर — विशेष रूप से मंगल
मुख्य दर्शन के बाद नवग्रह मंदिर जाएँ और अंगारक (मंगल) प्रतिमा को तिल तेल दीपक, लाल पुष्प और मुक्ति की प्रार्थना अर्पित करें। यह रक्त, चोट, शल्यक्रिया या दीर्घकालिक सूजन से जुड़े रोगों के लिए अनिवार्य माना जाता है।
Step 7
48 दिन की पश्चात् साधना
परंपरा 48 दिन (डेढ़ मंडलम्) की साधना सुझाती है: महामृत्युंजय मंत्र दैनिक (कम से कम 11 बार), मंगलवार को तिल तेल से दीप, और पहले 21 दिन शाकाहार। इस अवधि में किसी रोगी या चिकित्सा संस्था को दान करें।
